Sophie Berkley LPC RPT-S, is a Registered Play Therapy Supervisor, Certified SPT Supervisor (Synergetic Play Therapy www.synergeticplaytherapy.com), and a Consultant-in-Training with EMDR International Association. Sophie completed her Basic Training with Dr. Chandra, became an EMDRIA Certified Therapist and is now a Consultant-in-Training under Dr. Chandra’s mentorship. She has been working within the mental health field for over 20 years. She has had a variety of experiences ranging from working in residential care and day treatment alternative programs, working as a school-based counselor within K-12 schools, providing Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation to preschools, providing Pyramid Plus (www.pyramidplus.org) coaching for preschools and Early Intervention, facilitating Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (using horses to counsel people www.eagala.org), and being in private practice (www.growingpotentialnow.com) facilitating SPT and EMDR for children, teens, and families. Recently Sophie has been studying Kabbalistic Meditation (Jewish Mysticism) and provides meditation coaching and an energetic spin on EMDR and SPT through a lens of spirituality from the wisdom traditions (www.sophieberkley.com).
In addition to specializing in working with children and teens, Sophie is also passionate about working with adults who have experienced developmental trauma. Sophie has experienced the profound effects of both EMDR and SPT in her own healing journey and uses her personal knowledge to fuel her faith to hold space for those she is working with.
